Homemade pesto is one of the best ways to enjoy a bounty of fresh basil. This basil pesto recipe uses fresh parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and nutritional yeast and is done in less than 5 minutes.
I definitely recommend using fresh ingredients! With e.g. garlic powder or frozen basil the pesto wouldn’t taste as great!

Random Fact: Basil
Basil was used as a medicinal and ritual plant. For example, the ancient Egyptians put basil in the graves of pharaohs and tried to protect themselves from spirits and demons with its help.
